![]() ![]() The VM itself is running on XCP-ng / Xen Orchestra, which has been pretty damn stable and runs a shitload of other VMs (including Windows ones) perfectly well - but is on record passing both hardware memory and storage tests with flying colors.Remote Desktop Services (RDS) is a component of Windows Server that allows online communication with other devices. The server VM seems fine - I've run both sfc.exe /scannow as well as dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth, both come back showing a healthy server install. I have worked and worked and worked on this. Obviously, I have set up users who have had issues with OUTLOOK.EXE /SAFE, but that disrupts their workflow (no calendaring, no Salesforce connection), and crucially - it DOESN'T happen for other users and absolutely doesn't happen on Windows 10/11 workstations! Outlook CalDAV Synchronizer - it gives Outlook the ability to connect and sync to CalDAV calendars, since I expect the heat death of the universe to arrive before I expect Microsoft to add native functionality to their application supporting an open calendar or contacts synchronization standard. LinkPoint 360 - it connects Outlook to Salesforce and allows us to continue using our traditional IMAP/SMTP email setup. Couldn't tell you why THAT is, but it did. ![]() Sometimes it runs, crashes five minutes later, and for some God-inexplicable reason just takes out the entire goddamn INBOX with it. Sometimes it runs, and crashes like, five minutes later. HOWEVER, we appear to have an issue with Outlook 365 running on it. It's great and all, nice that people have a more modern and familiar interface to work with, support for more modern software, etc. ![]() So we've spun up this new Windows Server 2019 圆4 VM to play as our new Terminal Server, finally replacing our aging Windows Server 2008 R2 box from the days of yore. ![]()
